I have decided to set up this site so that I can share some of
our experiences and discoveries we have made along the way.
I have learned so much from reading other sites set up by
parents of ‘special children’.
These sites have given me hope and inspiration,
especially in those very dark moments.
The aim of this site is to share our journey with you
and that hopefully you can gain from our experiences.

The information that I have found, and I am sharing with you
on this site has given me the much
needed hope to keep me
focused and on track.
They have
and given me the hope to dare
that my child may regain a tiny amount of previous abilities
and possibly more.
As a parent of a child with very special needs I have found
that
so much of my time is seemingly wasted battling
and waiting for things – you may already know what I mean!
The internet is an amazing research tool for parents who
dare to go against convention and
refuse to accept the
sometimes traditional and narrow minded opinions of
Doctors and Consultants as the only solution.
Unconventional approaches could be the key to unlocking
or tearing down the barriers of injuries and diseases,
to help us to enable our children to reach their maximum potential
– and believe me there are thousands of us out there!
That does not mean I recommend or promote ‘abandoning’
the professionals, we need them and more importantly so do our children. But they are human and do not know everything!
Trust your gut instincts, and work with the professionals
you have the right to question and to educate them too!!
I lost complete faith
in consultants and decided
not to
use Jack’s first neuro consultant.
We believed (and still do) that his team let our son
down,
which has contributed to some of his current
problems that could have been minimised or even avoided.
However,
I did eventually find a neuro consultant at
Great Ormond Street, who is now helping us.
HAVE FAITH IN YOUR INSTINCTS!
“Parents are virtually expected to learn to live with
their problem,
and the world often reacts adversely to any mother or father who refuses to do so”.

This site is only in its early stages,
so please bear with me
(and my sister who is very patiently helping me with the technical stuff)
I hope this site will evolve into a place that can help others who are
unfortunate to have to come looking for an answer in the first place.

but also dream; not only plan,
but also believe”.
